Description of:   RADHA KRISHNA & GOPIS 4 Artist: Parikshit Dasa When Krishna was eight years old, He would perform watersports with the beautiful young gopis. There was splashing, laughing and joking with Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The young gopis were the most fortunate girls in the universe. They had performed unlimited austerities and penances in their former lives to have Krishna as their lover. The gopis were not ordinary women who take birth by karma. They were either His eternal associates or devotees who had attained spiritual perfection in previous lives. Lord Krishna's pastimes with the gopis are mentioned in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, 10th canto, chapters 29-33.
